Margot Janse to leave Le Quartier Français after 21 years

News broke this week that one of SA’s most celebrated chefs has resigned from her position as head chef of The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Français in the picturesque winelands town of Franschhoek.

The Tasting Room has won numerous top awards over the years (too many to count!) with Margot at the helm and it will feel very odd not to associate her with the Le Quartier Français property as she has been there for a staggering 21 years!

Guests will miss Margot’s food that is always filled with such creative ingenuity and soul and we can only say good luck to her successor who has some mighty large shoes to fill!

Eat Out Award judge, Abigail Donnelly says, “I have always had huge respect for Margot and eating her food has always been a most humbling experience. I can’t begin to know how her creative mind inspires the dishes that she creates. It’s mind-blowing and I have often been left with goose pimples.”

Food24 wishes Margot all the best on her new (yet-to-be-announced) adventures!
