Looooong weekend menu

Those who have to work on Monday will be grumbling in misery behind their desks while the lucky ones get to sleep in.

Food24 has decided to make an extra long weekend menu, just in case you lucky few don’t know what to cook this weekend.

Friday

So the weekend is here let the celebrating begin; start off the weekend by inviting all your friends over for a Mexican fiesta. Serve big jugs of margaritas to get the party started.

Feed your guests traditional
meat tortillas,

potato wedges,

Mexican black bean couscous with fresh coriander and don’t forget the Tex-Mex burritos.

Saturday

If the Mexican fiesta was a bit too much for your head to handle, never fear, Food24 to the rescue – here are some swigging and surviving tips.

If a road trip is on the weekend agenda, how about some tasty sarmies in the car – make these best-ever egg sandwiches, or gourmet biltong and butternut spread sandwiches.
Read Roadtrippin’ for more padkos ideas.

For dinner on Saturday do something simple – smoked chicken pizzas or these different

slipper pizzas.

Sunday
Pair your morning cup of tea with some cheese croissants.

Call the family over for a chilled braai.
Try this fish stuffed with spinach and couscous
and serve it with a sexy beetroot and green bean salad.

Monday
This is for the lazy ones who sleep in. Make a traditional fry-up for brunch, then do what you like, it’s your day off!

Tuesday
Happy youth day!

Spoil your kids with choc-chip pancakes with honey sauce for breakfast, and for you, these
berry and orange crêpes.

Have an early dinner/late lunch with the family and make bacon-wrapped chicken with rice and lentils. A healthy meal that both kids and partner will love.

Enjoy!!
