Inside the Oscars kitchen: the 2018 official menu including gold leaf wrapped potatoes

Glamour and talent will glide down the red carpet this weekend at the 2018 Academy Awards. As the winners await their golden Oscar, a team of 300 trained chefs will be preparing the finest cuisine for the after party, also known as the Governors Ball. 

Led by upbeat personality and internationally renowned chef, Wolfgang Puck, the after party feast will feature a menu of over 60 dishes, including a mountain of caviar, lobster and scallops topped with 24K gold, A5 grade Miyazaki wagyu beef, golden potatoes, mac ‘n cheese topped with truffles, chicken pot pie and beautifully plated dishes that will match the celebrity shimmer and shine. 

Expect bright lychee-rose raspberry tarts (below), otherworldly mocha beehives, and thousands of Oscar statue chocolates.

130 Kilos of wagyu beef

150 Kilos of smoked salmon

950 Waiters and staff

400 House made pizzas

4,500 Handmade Agnolotti (similar to ravioli) 

2,550 Macarons

1000 Artisan chocolate bonbons 

13.5 Kilos of gold dust
