I beg your pardon

So that’s how they roll in Alaska?

Now that the presidential race is over Sarah Palin, is exonerating her election antics by pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey…as per one of the more light-hearted American presidential traditions.

Each year since 1947, the National Turkey Federation and the Poultry and Egg National Board have given a turkey to the President of the United States at a White House ceremony.

In 1963 President Kennedy, referring to the turkey given to him, said, “Let’s just keep him”, and it wasn’t until 1989 that President George Bush Snr. officially pardoned a turkey for the first time.

Enter Sarah Palin

In the video below, Governor Palin gives an interview to Alaska KTUU after pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey.

This might not be the most newsworthy Palin production of late but check out the turkeys in the background. The “un-pardoned” ones that is.

Two turkeys are thrust into a vicious killing machine from which there is no escape, as the good governor gives thanks that her family are happy and healthy, in the true spirit of Thanksgiving. Sipping on a Starbucks Gingerbread Latte nogal.

Ave Maria…
