Having an ex for dinner

Anthony Morley, 36, a former Mr. Gay UK, was charged with the murder of Damian Oldfield, 33, whose naked body was found with stab wounds and lumps of flesh cut from his chest and thigh.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court in northern England heard how police found six pieces of seasoned, cooked flesh on a chopping board, while another piece of human flesh was found in a bin bag, apparently having been chewed.

After the attack Morley went to a nearby takeaway restaurant, in his dressing gown and flip-flops, telling the owners he had just killed a man because he had tried to rape him.

A former boyfriend told how Morley had once tried to attack him with a meat cleaver.

“He went to the kitchen and came back and sat down on the settee and five minutes later he leapt up and went for me with a meat cleaver,” said Shaun Wood, who had a relationship with Morley for more than six years.

“Fortunately he fell backwards so it didn’t get me, otherwise it would have done,” he added.

And he said: “I was obviously very scared but immediately afterwards he went upstairs to his bedroom and started smashing the bedroom up, shouting ‘I’m psychotic, I’m mad, get me a doctor’.”

Wood said Morley, who was normally a caring person, had acknowledged being confused about his sexuality, and after the couple split up went on to have relationships with women.

Morley, who kept his head bowed during the second day of the trial, denies murder.
