Gugulethu primary school and Urban Harvest team up to change school eating

Just under 2 months to go and already over 5000 rand in funding, Urban Harvest and EduPeg are working to raise funds to install edible gardens into Litha Primary in Gugulethu.

A World Design Capital project, the garden is part of growing development in South Africa to design our thinking process to find new ways to solve the country’s ongoing hunger issues (among a variety of other social topics).

Urban Harvest, a local company that provides small, smart and healthy garden solutions, are offering their services as part of the Thundafund goal to help provide daily meals for the Litha learners.

EduPeg promotes a ‘highly visual and tactile learning experience’ that is often underrepresented in low income schools.  For them, this project is an opportunity for a new environment that the students can engage in.

This project is looking for help from the community in return for a small gift and the donator probably feeling pretty great inside.

If you’d like to donate to the Guguletu Garden, visit www.thundafund.com/gugulethugarden.

Thundafund is a crowd-funding website where organisations and people in South Africa can fund their business ideas.
