Food24 parties at… Rodizio in Jozi

Whatever expectations I had about Rodizio
went out the window the moment I walked through it (wasn’t looking
where I was going). The place is huge, raucous and screams ‘Let’s
party!’ This was a place I was not going to take my Gran, but more
likely someone who drinks more than me.

Sipping on a
deliciously fruity yet dangerously alcoholic cocktail with my favourite
little umbrella on the side I perused the extensive menu (FYI – hope
you like fish with your fish)

Waiter: What would like to order?
Me: A brazilian

Realising
what I had said, I stuffed an already stuffed mushroom (delicious as a
starter) in my mouth to stop me saying anything else stupid and let my
partner order for me. Two minutes later the manager walked up to our
table.

Manager: So Baglett, what did you order?
Me: The Feijoada Brazileira
Manager: Jeepers you’re brave.

Brilliant!
I love nothing more than an honest manager. When he warned me of the
potential gas I may experience, I pretty much put both my hands in the
air and shouted ‘I surrender’.

So it goes without saying that
this is not the place you go to rekindle the romance in your
relationship. It is a place that you would go to with a huge crew and
your intention is to shake a hoof on the dancefloor and then hit the
bar. The staff have been trained to find you when you can’t find
yourself and the manager is so friendly, whether you like it or not, he
will be joining your party.

If you’re planning an office
function, bachelor’s or just a night out where you’re looking for food,
drinks and a dance floor under one roof, give Rodizio a call. Judging
by the stories the manager told me as he filled up my cocktail glass
for the umpteenth time, this is where you party – Brazilian style.

Rodizio (Fourways) was reviewed by Baglett. Read her tea-snortingly funny blog here.
