The sound of music
The cast and crew of the Broadway show Spamalot took up the challenge to mark the one year anniversary of the show. Cast, crew and onlookers participated in the event that took place in 2006 in Shubert Alley in New York, forming a 1789 coconut playing orchestra.

Bigger is always better
Chef Carlo Fernandez from Madrid, thought he made the biggest omelette, consisting of 5 000 eggs just to be outdone by the Lung Association of Ontario. They made an omelette weighing almost three tons using more than 5 000 eggs in 2002.

Another outstanding record is held by Mike Cuzzacrea who ran a marathon while tossing a pancake. It lasted three hours, two minutes and 27 seconds. Scientists created a formula to calculate how many flips where made to accurately award Cuzzacrea the title.

Cuzzacrea might be fast however he would have struggled to run with the one of the world’s largest pancakes. This pancake weighs almost three tons and is 13m in diameter. This giant was baked and flipped in Bloemfontein in 1992.

If you prefer your pancakes with bacon you’ll have to compete with “Crazy Legs Conti” who ate three and a half pounds of bacon and pancakes in 12 minutes.

You ate what?
Ken Edwards loves cockroaches and holds the record Edwards when he ate 36 hissing Madagascar cockroaches in one minute.

If you prefer cow brains you’ll have to compete with Japan’s Takeru Kobayashi. He ate almost 18 pounds of cow brains in 15 minutes. He also holds the record for hotdogs. He ate 50 and a half hotdogs in 12 minutes to break his own record.
