Food photos save lives

A plate of nachos… click. A pretty cupcake… click. A burger the size of your face… click. Add a filter, a caption and straight to Instagram! Boom. And the cycle continues.

The world has become obsessed with being their own food stylist. You just have to read Buzzfeed’s 25 types of people who take photos of their food instead of eating it, and this article on a study that shows we’ll enjoy our food more if we don’t Instagram it, to know that this really is a #firstworldproblem.

With so many food photos being shoved in our faces on a daily (sometimes hourly!) basis, it’s hard to imagine that anyone could go hungry. Yet, in developing countries, millions live in poverty and suffer from malnutrition.

UNICEF New Zealand have created #FOODPHOTOSSAVELIVES to harness the power of the ever-growing food photo trend and turn it into a movement that could change the world.

Watch the video below for more details on how you can make your next food photo count. #FOODPHOTOSSAVELIVES
