Fine dining! In PE?

The Springboks reminded us that Port Elizabeth is still on the fun map last weekend. And PE went bos.

I for one was stoked. Not only because I am from there but because we have put a lot of effort lately into updating our restaurant database and we’ve been very busy listing new restaurants that have opened up all over the country. And PE was right at the top of our hit list.

I’ve noticed in the past 2 years a new breed of restaurants popping up in PE – I remember the days when the only place to go to was Natti’s Thai Kitchen (my brother actually wanted to have his pre-wedding family dinner there!). I’m happy to report Natti’s is still going strong – you can still take your own cool box, and we still love it.

Richmond Hill

Anyone who is eating out in PE these days though must have been to the gourmet zone of Richmond Hill. Wow! Stanley Street is buzzing with cool delis, coffee shops, sushi bars, Italian mamma’s kitchens, Indian curries, seafood… the works… and the general consensus is that Richmond Hill is edgy and awesome.

Our Joburg reviewer Like Father Like Son recently found himself in the Friendly City and he was pretty impressed with the restaurant revolution in Richmond Hill. Check out his reviews of 2 of PE’s new additions.

Review them yourself!

So now that we’ve listed all these marvellous restaurants – we invite you to review them on Food24.  Go and check out a new place, or visit an old favourite – then simply search for it and post a review.  If you loved it, the best thing you can do for them is write up a glowing report, and if it was below par…  I’m sure the owner would appreciate some constructive criticism.

The best review of a PE restaurant this week will get a R500 Kalahari.com voucher from us. No, there’s no catch… you just have to be eating out in PE.

And of course it’s not just all about PE! If you know of any new restaurants that have opened up (anywhere in SA) that deserve a mention – then please drop us an email at editor@food24.com and we’ll show them some Food24 love.

Yours in a Bok jersey,
