February Vin-atics

Hello Quaffers

Welcome to the first Vin-atics of 2011. We’ve kicked off this year with a total bang and have already had a completely fabulous braai with the most hilarious and entertaining guests!

Welmoed Wines are one of the most affordable, accessible and truly good value partners we’ve ever had at Vin-atics (read more about them here) and they’re always up for something a bit different. So this month, we suggested a braai to them and they leapt at the chance – I mean, let’s face it – who doesn’t want to braai in this weather?

And the rain came down…

If only we had had this weather last week when we actually held our braai!! The one night in the month when it absolutely HOONED down and we were all out in Sam’s garden huddled under an umbrella. But it takes more than a spot of rain to daunt braai Gods Pete Goffe-Wood and Jan Scannell who were our experts for the evening, along with red wine lover and writer, Erika Borman and tell-it-like-it-is wine blogger, Dion Martin. If you want to read what an absolutely awesome time we had then click here.

The Vin-atics Wine Challenge – and it’s the easiest ever!

•    Like tasty, easy-to-find, good value wines? Check
•    Like totally delish dishes cooked on the braai? Check
•    Got friends? Check – hey, I’ll be your friend forever if you cook for me!

Then you’ve got everything you need to win yourself a case of Welmoed wine! Click here to find all the info about the recipes and the wines. Then buy yourself a bottle or two – Ultra Liquors has most of them – select a couple of the recipes, invite some friends round, take lots of pics of you all having a fabulous time and then email them to us telling us how it all went.

It’s so easy, it’s not true! And the funniest/most interesting/best illustrated/most adventurous entry will win a case of Welmoed wines delivered to their door anywhere in SA.

Post your report on your blog and email the link to editor@food24.com or just send it as an email. All entries must be received by the end of the month. Enjoy the food and wine and happy braaiing!

Cheers
