Eat for Goals!




The book’s simple message: “A healthy lifestyle is also based on healthy food”, is conveyed by a multi-ethnic group of 13 internationally renowned male and female football players and their food choices.


A total 13 recipes are presented with the aim of educating youth and their families on the interdependency between a balanced healthy diet and performance.


Each player shares with the readers what he or she loves to eat and gives the recipe for his or her favourite dish.


Children are invited to cook and eat like champions, with a detailed list of the ingredients and step-by-step instructions for preparing each of the 13 dishes makes it easy for even the less-experienced to make delicious, healthy meals in no time at all.


“It shows young players and lovers of football how to cook and eat like champions,” said Steven Gerrard, captain of Liverpool who included his personal favourite aromatic sea bream.


Scotland captain Barry Ferguson suggested a fruit salad, while Ruud van Nistelrooy opted for salmon grilled with cloves and served with vegetables.


German striker Miroslav Klose added a for a power omelette and England’s manager Fabio Capello included a recipe for pasta a la siciliana.


Eat for Goals! was created under the patronage of Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), World Heart Federation and the European Commission. It was created for children aged 5 to 11 and is published in English, French and German.
