If you are a newcomer to the world of craft beers, Capital Craft Beer Academy offers a tasting plate which allows you to try different types of craft beer. Capital Craft has over 300 beers available, so connoisseurs have their pick over which lager, ale or pilsner floats their boat. And if you are not in the mood for beer, they have an excellent wine selection, and gin tasting trays for those who are looking to delve into the gin life.
For a location that is known for their drinks, it seems almost surprising how excellent their food is. They have some unique and interesting burgers such as the chakalaka burger and the Big Daddy burger which has bacon, jalapenos, white cheddar and sundried tomatoes all with one big beef patty. Although the wait for the burgers is approximately 45 minutes, it is worth the wait just to experience these tasty treats. Other than the burgers, the menu includes brunch omelettes, salads, corndogs, poppers, sandwiches, bunny chows, steak and even ribs. This is not your average bar menu, so even if the craft beer is what draws you to Capital Craft Beer Academy, it’s not the only reason to visit this establishment, the variety of meals will give you almost anything that you crave for.
When chatting to one of the barmen, they said that Capital Craft Beer Academy gives patrons more than just a pint of beer, they get to learn more about the product as well – such as the flavours and ingredients of the beers, what specific glasses are used for different beers etc.
The Capital Craft Beer Academy has a relaxed atmosphere, with trestles tables and benches to sit on inside and a beer garden environment outside. It is also great for students on a budget or families looking for a good meal together.
