Controversial Domino’s pizza complaints video – does it achieve its goal?

A recent campaign by the UN Refugee Agency has people torn between laughter over quintessential ‘first world problems’ and bursting into tears when the reality of how frivolous those problems are in relation to the less privileged.

The video below features a narration of Domino’s complaints from unsatisfied Australians posted to the pizza chain’s Facebook page.

With pearlers like ‘he stated like they [Domino’s Pizza] tasted like farts,’  and ‘I didn’t know you only sold Pizza’s, but apparently you also sell Facism,’ you’ll find yourself recounting the times you’ve also written disgruntled posts to your local fast food chains with heavy disappointment.

Before you raise your symbolic fist into the air in solitude, know that these retold accounts are set to the ongoing footage of the harrowing world issue of population displacement and poverty.

Beneath the video is an excess of over 1600 comments of viewers who are wholly undecided about how they should feel after watching the video.

Australians are known for their honest and deepest darkest humour, but I wonder if this video achieves its goals or if it could have proved its point with a little more taste (just like Domino’s products).
