Chef movie inspires director to open a restaurant

Chef – the movie was released in cinemas earlier this year and is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD but If you haven’t seen the film yet, watch the Chef trailer here.

Along with a cast featuring Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey, Jr., Jon Favreau stars as a chef who opens a Cuban food truck to help make ends meet. Jon says that Cuban culture is lost in time a little and admits that he enjoys nostalgia.

Jon Favreau, who also wrote and directed the film said that he loves sharing food with people so that they can see that food really is as good as it looks. He thinks that opening a restaurant is a way to let the movie live on and connect with the fans.

LA chef and restaurateur, Roy Choi supports the idea of opening an eatery. Choi was a consultant and co-producer for the film and oversaw all the menus and created the stars of the show; the Cuban sandwiches.

Favreau may even don a chef’s cap and join Choi in the kitchen. People Magazine reports that he signed up for chef school in anticipation of the film and now loves cooking even more.
