Last week were were happy to hear of La Colombe‘s also exceptional achievement of coming number 76, when The World’s 50 Best announced restaurants from 51 – 100.
At 8pm last night in New York, The 50 Best restaurants association announced the top 50 restaurants across the globe. The awards ceremony has a multiple sponsors with the main partners being Diners Club and San Pellegrino.

The list is created by an elite, influential group of individuals who are prolific in the restaurant industry, internationally. The academy is made up of 27 regions around the world, each region holding 36 member. These regional groups ra made up of chefs, critics, restauranteurs and highly regarded ‘gastronomes’.
The groups look at the performance of restaurants over the past 18 months and The Test Kitchen in Cape Town came in at a very admirable number 22! Last year they came in at number 28 so it’s an incredible achievement and the South African food industry couldn’t be prouder!
