Calling all 2010 venues

Now that all that horrible R50 000 liquor license business
is behind us… let us move boldly towards the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
It’s time, fans, to prepare for the biggest event to hit South Africa
ever.

And what do we love more than anything else in the
world? FIFA? No! Freebies? Nope.  LISTS, people thrive on lists – they
suck them up like industrial vacuum cleaners.

Here at Food24
we are going to get into the list thing like you’ve never seen before.
We want to create the ultimate 2010 list.  Lists – 9 of them. For each
of the 9 host cities there’s got to be a top list of
pubs/bars/restaurants to watch a world cup match at. And we are going
to need their names in order to list them.

But we need YOUR help. I can’t tell you where the best place in Polokwane is to grab a beer and a burger and watch the big game. Why? Because I’ve never even been to Polokwane!

I’ve been to Nelspruit.  Once. When I was 12.

I think you catch my drift.

We need you – yes you Durban, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, Rustenburg, Port Elizabeth!
If you love your city, and I’m sure that you do, then send us a list of
fabulous places to go and watch the match.  There is no limit to how
long our lists can be – we’ll keep updating them so long as you keep
sending us the information.

Food24 is South Africa’s biggest foodie website, so if you want to support your local in the best possible way, send us
their name and details and we’ll add them to our lists. Restaurants,
pubs, bars, B & Bs… we don’t care – so long as they are serving
beer and grub, or wine and haute cuisine (it doesn’t matter), and they
have a BIG, FAT television – we’ll add them to the list  and you, and a
million foreign visitors, can choose where you’d like to go and watch
history unfold.

We’ll also be sharing the list with our big brother Sport24.co.za so that all the real sports fans out there can vuvuzela themselves senseless in the same hangouts.  Awesome.

So please don’t wait – do it now. Review the restaurant or bar if you find it on Food24, otherwise drop me an email and I’ll do the rest.

I want lists people!
