Cake Boss Buddy Valastro arrested for drinking and driving

 Buddy Valastro, the much loved Cake Boss has appeared in court after getting arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was pulled over  in his yellow Corvette just after midnight on New York City’s West
Side. After failing a field sobriety test, he was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

The reality TV star, who has not yet entered a plea, was offered a deal that would include a 90-day driver’s license suspension and a $300 fine.

Valastro apparently told police during his arrest, “I had a couple drinks. You can’t arrest me! I’m the Cake Boss.” The prosecutor also said that Valastro insisted several times, “I’m a good guy.” He added: “Can you just put me in a cab? I don’t have to be arrested, I’m not a bad guy.”

He is due back in court on 6th January 2015.

The Cake Boss, who has a huge following in South Africa, visited Cape Town in September 2012 for the Good Food & Wine Show. He is a favourite amongst adults and children alike. The news of the incident has been met with disappointment on social media, with many people commenting on why he did not take a taxi instead of driving.
