And the award goes to…Janice Tripepi!

As we prepare for the run-up to the festive season, our fabulous bloggers are in a foodie frenzy of inspiration and delicious creativity.

Here is a peek into the life of Jan Tripepi. She is a warm and interesting woman who is a whizz in the kitchen. Her passion for food and all things fun is as large as her smile and she is constantly surprising us with new and wonderful recipes. Q: What do you do when you’re not spending time in the kitchen making gorgeous food?

A: I work – I’m a bookkeeper for our Engineering & Project Management Company!  Mix cocktails, have nails done, shop, arrange flowers, mix more cocktails, swim… mix cocktails!!

Q: What would be your perfect foodie destination holiday and why?

A: Japan – I looove sushi and Japanese food and flower arranging – or India – looove curry and have always wanted to see India and the Taj Mahal.

Q: What would you eat for your last supper and why?

A: Oysters, braaied crayfish and sushi – all washed down with Moet!

Q: Who is your hottest celeb chef and why?

A: OOOh that Chocolate( Hunky Jorjus ) dude – Willy Wonka! He melts my chocolate.

Q: What 5 ingredients would you take to a deserted island?

A: Champagne, salt, garlic, lemons and chilli.

Q: If you had a restaurant what would you name it, and what would your specialty be?

A: Sapori which means ‘flavours’ in Italian. Fusion Italian/everything!!!

Q: Name one thing that you refused to eat when you were young?

A: Smash potato (vom food).

Q: What is your foodie vice e.g. chocolates, fast food etc?

A: This one is impossible … ALL FOOD!!!

Q: What is your favourite restaurant and why? 

A: BeanBagBohemia in Durban … Their food is awesom and the menu CHANGES FREQUENTLY, they celebrate seasonal food and have a funky sassy vibe. 

Q: If you could be a fruit – which one and why?

A: Mango … sweet, soft, succulent and desirable

Q: What is the worst meal you’ve ever cooked?

A: Peking duck … Ii think i may just have cooked an annorexic duck! 24 hours of cooking for a toothpick of meat! Nah ….

Q: What is the one implement in the kitchen you cannot do without and why?

A: My knife … it keeps unwanted people out of my queendom!

Q: Who would you like to sit down for dinner with 5 other people?

A: George Clooney, Frank Sinatra, Dean Matin, Willy Wonka the Chocolate Man & Jeremy Clarkson.
