Dinner in Stellenbosch just got more inviting with the addition of bistro 13’s three course set menu. The set menu is available for dinners and joins the a la carte menu and the ten course Naked Menu, a tasting menu focused on ingredients in their simplest forms.

The Bistro Set Menu contains starters with a choice of buffalo mozzarella, basil, tomato and white anchovy or veal kidneys with mustard and bay leaf sauce with white beans, mains has lamb shank risotto or line fish with artichoke salad and a choice of sorbet or cold malva pudding, turkish delight custard and pistachio praline for dessert.

Chef Nic van Wyk’s love of South African produce, French techniques and classic flavours runs through and the new menu increases the dinner offering of the newly opened bistro at Stellenbosch Vineyards on the historic Welmoed Farm.

‘Eating out is a big part of living in South Africa, we have talented chefs and our surroundings are perfect for enjoying the eating out experience as a whole,’ says Nic.

The menu is priced at R220 for three courses and is a great way to enjoy a starter, main and dessert more often. The wine list is also very accommodating in terms of price and variety, with a glass of bubbles at R20,  wine by the glass starting at R25 for the Stellenbosch Vineyards range, R30 a glass for the Credo range, and bottles ranging from R86 to R315, excluding the range of imported wines.  If a beer is what you are after, the restaurant is fully licensed.

The set menu will change with the season, along with the a la carte and Naked Menu.  Booking is advisable.
