Bihari in the burbs

The second Bihari restaurant at the Palm Grove Centre in Durbanville will delight Indian cuisine lovers. Managed by Graeme Moyles and Peter van Biljon, Bihari’s new addition will offer more authentic North Indian fine dining experience.

About the owner

A dental practitioner by day and restaurateur by night, David Ross has a passion for people and food. Ross spent 18 years in the UK, supported by vast travels and knows what it takes to provide a good meal in a relaxed and warm environment.

“My passion for a good curry comes from spending 20 years in the UK where curries are enjoyed by everyone. It was natural that when I returned to South Africa eight years ago that I would be in search for not only the same outstanding curry but the complete authentic experience,” says Ross

About the chef

With a qualified chef from North India, Bihari’s head chef, Peer Patel, has been spreading his colourful and culinary touch in five star hotels throughout the country.

Specialising in North Indian and tandoori cuisine, Patel has introduced a vast range of foods from India that were previously unheard of, such as his Royal Kebab and Seafood Platters. Whilst Bihari’s extensive menu focuses mostly on meals from the north, regional cuisine is also available. The food is prepared in open-plan style in the restaurant’s tandoor ovens on hot open coals,

If you’ve never eaten at Bihari before diners have a choice of no less than seven naan breads, mains include a variety of curries and Indian Tandoor whether they be mild or hot to their favourite Lamb Rogan Josh or Prawn Korma.

Bihari Durbanville is opening soon at Palm Grove Centre. For an online visual tour of Bihari click here.
