Big daddy food

Do you ever get food envy? I do.

When my husband devours a double salami pizza, a good chunk of mine, and then pops open the bar-one ice cream and eats all the yummy bits. Or when he inhales two mounds of Sunday lunch, plus pudding, and then swings by the petrol station for a Magnum on the way home.

Perhaps it’s his blissful guilt-free approach, or maybe the fact that he has a furnace for a stomach that turns me a little green. Whatever it is, it’s just one of those irritating things that we, the hormonally challenged, deranged chocolate cravers that we are, have got to get used to. Men can eat big.

So, for this coming Father’s day, get the aprons onto the little ones and hold onto your hats, we’re going huge.

Let’s cook some big daddy food.

Let him sleep in whilst you and the kids make this whopper of a
farmer’s breakfast, serve it with wedges of freshly toasted ciabatta dripping in butter. Or you could try this

bacon-and-egg puff pastry pie. It’s a one dish wonder fit for the king of your castle.

Indulge dad for lunch with these feisty
grilled prawns with chilli and coriander, followed by sticky

pork ribs. The whole family will be licking their fingers in delight. Serve them with crisp

potato wedges, and

sweet chilli sauce.
Top it all off with these yummy double-layer chocolate brownies.

After a lovely long, relaxing day of sport and family fun, sit dad down for a warm and gut-sticking supper.
Try this delicious
mussel pot for starters, followed by a tasty
east African spiced lamb served with these fantastic

baked sweet potatoes with chilli butter.
And finish the lovely tummy filling day with a velvety
chocolate amaretto mousse.

Now if that doesn’t pop his top button, nothing will!

Hooray for seconds.
