Arno Carstens presents The Blind Tiger Sessions 2014 feat Urban Brandy

Two years after muddling its first cocktail, Urban Brandy Cocktail Route is now enjoyed in 50 venues across 3 cities, continuing to introduce SA’s favourite spirit to a whole new generation of brandy lovers.

In celebration of the ever-growing popularity of the route, an exclusive evening of mixed arts and musical collaborations by top South African talent seems the perfect partnership for the modern-face of this iconic local spirit.

During the Prohibition, in the USA in the early 1940’s, the phrase “I’m going to see a blind tiger” was street-code for visiting a pop-up venue that offered entertainment and alcohol.

A play on this idea, The Blind Tiger Sessions; an annual event hosted by Arno to present a synthesis of his personal taste in music and art; is here again, this year pushing the boundaries with a truly eclectic combination of styles.

The impressive line-up for this year’s experience includes performances by Little Giants and Kim van der Ventel, Mikhail Jones, Laudo Liebenberg and Toya Delazy, and will showcase an installation by celebrated local photographer, Morne van Zyl.  The evening’s main message is about collaboration, and experiencing these artists in a way that you would not normally see them perform.

Guests at this unique collaboration will be able to indulge in a variety of complimentary Urban Brandy Cocktails. Both suave and sublime, these include the mouthwatering Central Park and Southern Sun Waterfront’s signature cocktail, the Cape Strawberry Daiquiri.
