All these cooking shows

Can you keep up?

There are entire channels and networks just for cooking
shows. It’s a worldwide phenomena and we’ve
finally jumped on the food truck.

Monday is ‘Come Dine with Me’, Thursdays is ‘Ultimate Braai
Maste
r’ and Saturdays is ‘Dinner Divas’. And did you know that the MasterChef SA Season
2 auditions
are about to begin again too? Jozi cook-offs already begin at the
end of this month… quick!

I‘m can’t possibly mention all the international shows that
are continuously rolling out, but one that has us in raptures is the Junior MasterChef Australia – Australia does it again!

The point is, in the last year, we have had 3 new South African
shows about cooking and food. The newest one, Dinner Divas is all about food
bloggers. How very brilliant is that?

Whilst we have followed in the footsteps of the rest of the
world with Come Dine with Me and MasterChef, what I’m most proud of is Ultimate
Braai Master and the fun Divas show.

2 very uniquely South African programmes. The Ultimate Braai
Master is all about the braai and the
teams of people hail from all corners of our unique chunk of earth. I’m
enjoying it, although I do think it could be a little more racy… hey?

Dinner Divas is a small, un-pretentious show that showcases
food bloggers with a cook-off structure judged by a mixture of chefs and
foodies. It’s a bit of fun and will charge up our bloggers and bring a
new wave of foodies onto the interwebs. Bring it on people, you can do it!

I have long been saying that food in South Africa is really flying
and I hope that this is just the beginning. What do you think? Are we on the
right track?

Let’s have more shows, more bloggers, writers, chefs, cooks,
wine and beer people and more cool markets and food trucks.

Because we deserve it!

Love and square eyes,
