Cape Town

Basilico, Newlands
Basilico offers a lunch special from Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 4pm. Wood-fired pizzas, pastas and salads are on special for R60 for sit-down customers.

Active Sushi, De Waterkant
Active Sushi do specials in a big way! Their lunch special runs from 11:30 to 3:30pm, from Monday to Saturday. Various platters are on special over the lunch period, starting at R70. They also have their daily all-you-can eat special at R199. For more information, see here.

Beijing Opera, De Waterkant
Beijing Opera serve authentic dim sum and bao, as well as noodle broths and a variety of daily specials that taste like they’ve been served directly from Asia. There aren’t specific lunch specials but students get 10% off their meal with the presentation of a student card and everyone else gets and 5% off if you use Snapscan.

Beerhouse, Long Street

El Burro Taqueria, City Bowl
Enjoy totally amazing tacos at the City Bowl’s favourite, Tacqueria. From 12pm to 5pm, you can buy 3 tacos and only pay for 2 – lunch sorted. This is for sit-down customers only and runs from Monday to Friday.

Rick’s Café Americain, Gardens
Rick’s Café offers tasty gourmet lunches for R69 from Monday to Friday. The menu changes weekly so keep an eye out on their Facebook page. The latest menu includes delicousness like Gorgonzola gnocchi, slow roasted pork, and crustless spinach, feta and mushroom quiche. Each day there are 2 options, and lunch is served between 12pm and 3pm.

Pize e Vino, Stellenbosch
On Mondays and Tuesday’s enjoy a medium sized pizza or a pasta and a drink of your choice for R89. Pize a Vino offers relaxed family-style dining, and are well known for their wood-fired pizzas. The Stellenbosch branch is still fairly new, and the restaurant group pulled out all the stops in terms of style and design.

Joburg

Yamitsuki, Bedfordview
Yamitsuki combines the best of Japanese and Chinese cusines, serving noodles, dim sum, teppanyaki and sushi. They offer a lunch special which includes a small sushi platter for R85 or dim sum and a chicken teppanyaki bowl for R55.

Love Food Café, Braamfontein
At Love Food, the wholesome menu is updated each day, with fresh salads, warm tray bakes and wraps to choose from. Lunch specials are offered at around R50. See the menu updates on their website.

Durban

Atasca, Melvern, Westville and Durban North
Atasca serves lovely Portuguese and other Mediterranean style food. Think peri peri prawns and trinchado. For the lunch special you can choose between 2 or 3 course for either R139 or R140 between 12pm and 3pm daily. And this comes with a carafe of wine.

Olive & Oil, Glenwood and Umhlanga
Olive & Oil offer the exact same special as Atasca, but of course with their own signature food. Enjoy a 2 or 3 course meal at R139 or R149 as well as a carafe of Robertson wine.

La Bella, Essenwood and Durban North
La Bella offers a lunch time special that changes each day. Monday is curry and rice, Tuesday is chicken livers, Wednesday is a prego steak roll, Thursday is a beef and Guinness pot pie, and Friday is fish and chips. Each meal is charged at R60.

Pretoria

O’Galito, Centurion, Woodlands and Montana
The choice is endless with lunch specials at O’Galito, that show off their Portuguese flare. They offer a variety of seafood lunch specials as well as chicken curry, steak and surf and turf dishes ranging between R75 and R100. On top of that you can get a burger and a craft beer, both of your choice, for R99. There’s also half price sushi daily from 2pm to 5pm.

The Corner Café
The Corner Café serves classic, homey-style food like fish and chips, steak and chips and homemade pies. They usually have lunch specials every week which feature hearty dishes priced at around R40 to R50.

Following on from the Cape Town branch, Beerhouse in Centurion also serve their incredible R60 special. Enjoy lunch and a 330ml beer, soft drink or Savanna. The menu changes weekly so keep an eye out on their Facebook page. This week featured dishes like Umami burger, spiced fishcakes and wasabi slaw and butter chicken bunny chow.

Pize a Vino, Waterkloof
Pize e Vino in Pretoria also has its Monday and Tuesday special – a medium pizza or a pasta with a drink of your choice for R89.

Bridge Street Brewery
On Mondays Bridge Street Brewery offer a burger of your choice and a beer for R65, and on Tuesday’s enjoy any pizza for half the price.
