So, it turns out we’ve been eating pineapples completely wrong all our lives!

Most people peel the pineapple before cutting it into chunks, and sometimes we pay a little extra for the chopped or canned pineapple.

Either way, chances are you’ve been doing it wrong all along.

A video which surfaced on Twitter shows that instead of peeling and chopping up the fruit, you can actually take chunks out in sections because of the way the fruit grows. PLEASE NOTE: This cannot be done with all varieties of pineapples!

The video, posted by Dennis Naghizadeh, shows someone grabbing the spine on the outside of the pineapple and pulling it upwards, leaving a juicy chunk in the middle for them to eat.

It seems the fruit grows in segments, making it easy to pick out.

The tweet went viral with over 390 000 likes.

People even went on to try the theory themselves. For some it worked straight away, while others struggled.
