Preheat oven to 180 °C and grease a 22 cm pie dish with butter.
Sprinkle the brown sugar in the bottom of the dish and arrange the apples on top.
Drizzle with the golden syrup and add the water.
Rub the butter into the cake flour until the mixture is crumbly.
Mix in the brown sugar and sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
Sprinkle with muesli as soon as the pudding comes out of the oven.
Serve with custard or ice cream.
