Sparkling vanilla cocktail
Sparkly, shiny and oh so sophisticated!
|1/2 cup||white sugar|
|1/2 cup||cold water|
|1 tsp||vanilla extract|
|60 ml||basic sugar syrup (see recipe) — as above|
|100 ml||Leopard's Leap Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir|
|fresh lemon — sliced|
Method – vanilla simple syrup
Add water and sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat.
Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Strain into a jar or bottle and seal tightly with a lid.
Method – cocktail
Pour brandy and vanilla simple syrup into a chilled champagne flute.
Fill to the top with the sparkling wine.
Squeeze lemon juice into glass and drop in rind.
