Ingredients (12)

200.00 g savoury soya mince — curried
2.00 onion — sliced
250.00 ml mixed vegetables — frozen
TOPPING
2.00 eggs — large, beaten
250.00 ml milk
2.00 bay leaves
or
3.00 potatoes — peeled, boiled and mashed
25.00 ml butter
50.00 ml milk
5.00 ml Robertson's baking powder
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF).
Prepare the soya mince according to the packet instructions.
Sauté the onion until soft and add.
Pour boiling water over the vegetables, leave for 5 minutes and drain well.
Add to the soya mince and turn into an ovenproof dish with enough room for a topping as well.
Prepare one of the toppings:
Ffor bobotie, beat the eggs and milk together and pour over the soya mixture. Arrange the bay leaves on top and bake for 20 minutes, or until the egg mixture has set, OR
For the cottage pie, mix the potatoes, butter, milk and baking powder and season with salt and pepper. Pipe on top of the soya mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until browned.
Serve with a salad.
