Sangria popsicles

Sangria is traditionally made with red wine and fruit but we’ve made ours with white wine and turned it into ice lollies.

Ingredients (5)

250 ml sugar
125 ml water
lemon — juice only
500 ml wine — dry white
nectarines — sliced

Method:

Keep moulds for 8-10 popsicles handy, as well as
8-10 ice-cream sticks.

1 Syrup Put all the ingredients in a small saucepan and heat, stirring
continuously until all
the sugar has dissolved.
Simmer over low heat
without stirring for
5 minutes. Remove
from the heat and leave
to cool slightly.

2 Popsicles Mix the wine
and syrup well. Put the
fruit slices in the popsicle moulds, divide the
wine mixture among the
moulds and freeze for
2 hours.

3 Stick an ice-cream stick in the middle of each
popsicle and return to
the freezer for another
2-3 hours or overnight.
Remove from the
moulds and enjoy.
