|1/4 cup||sauce of your choice|
|1/4 cup||BBQ sauce|
|oil — for frying|
|3 cup||self-raising flour|
|1 cup||water — warm|
|oil — to fry|
For the vetkoek:
Add a pinch of salt to the self-raising flour then add the warm water. Mix until combined.
Knead until smooth. Divide the dough into 12 portions, shape to size and fry until golden.
For the Russians:
Heat a medium-sized pot of oil over moderate heat.
Score the Russians and fry them for 1-2 min.
Fill the vetkoeks with the chips, the Russians and achar.
Serve the kota vetkoeks with your favourite sauces – you can add cheese and egg too if you feel like going big.
