Ingredients (7)

1/2 cup water
1 can condensed milk
4 cup sugar
125 g butter
30 ml golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla — essence
1 tsp vinegar

Add the water, condensed milk, sugar, butter and golden syrup to a pot over medium heat.

Heat gently allowing the sugar to dissolve. Then bring to a gentle boil for +- 30 minutes until it caramelizes and thickens. Remove form the heat and stir in the vanilla and vinegar.

Beat the fudge mixture with an electric beater until the colour lightens and it has thickened.

Spread into a greased rectangular dish and cool for about 20 minutes until firm enough to cut into squares.

Then allow to stand for 1 hour before removing from the dish.
