These sausage rolls are the perfect treat for any occasion.
|750 g||pork mince|
|3||garlic — cloves, crushed|
|1||onion — grated|
|1||apples — red, grated|
|1 tsp||cloves — ground|
|1 cup||breadcrumbs — fresh|
|10 g||fresh sage — chopped|
|sea salt and freshly ground black pepper|
|1x400 g||puff pastry|
|1||eggs — separated|
|sesame seeds — to garnish|
|sweet chilli sauce — to serve|
Preheat oven to 220°C. In a large bowl, mix together pork, garlic, onion, apple, cloves, breadcrumbs and sage. Season well.
Cut the pastry into two halves lengthways. Divide mince into two sausage-shaped portions, place each sausage on a pastry half. Brush egg white over the exposed pastry. Fold pastry over mince to form a long sausage roll. Pinch the pastry together firmly, brush with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sea salt.
Cut into the desired size, place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden. Serve with sweet chilli sauce.
