Chocolate baked doughnuts
|1 cup||cake flour|
|1/4 cup||cocoa powder|
|1/3 cup||white sugar|
|1 tbsp||Robertson's baking powder|
|1/2 cup||olive oil|
|1/2 tsp||Robertson's vanilla essence|
|125 g||dark chocolate|
If using an oven: Preheat oven to 180 C and prepare doughnut baking tray by spraying with non-stick spray.
If using a doughnut maker: Preheat doughnut-maker for 5 minutes prior to baking doughnuts.
In a large bowl, add the cake flour, cocoa powder, white sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix the dry ingredients together using a whisk.
Combine the milk, olive oil, vanilla essence and the egg together in a smaller bowl then add to the dry ingredients and whisk together until well combined. The batter should be thick and smooth.
Add batter to doughnut baking tray or doughnut maker and bake for either 15 minutes in the oven or 3 minutes in the doughnut maker.
Allow to cool before decorating.
Heat cream in a microwave until steaming, about 2 minutes. Add chocolate pieces to the cream and allow chocolate to melt into the cream before stirring, about 5 minutes. Stir together until smooth then decorate doughnuts as you’d like.
