Ingredients (13)

750 g beef mince — lean
1 eggs
60 ml oats
5 ml salt and freshly ground black pepper
15 ml dried parsley or handful of fresh parsley, chopped
30 ml oil
4 large slices of cheese or prepacked processed cheese squares
4 bread — burger rolls
butter — for spreading
mustard — prepared
gherkins — large, sliced
tomato sauce
1 onion — sliced into rings

Method:

Patties

1. Mix the mince, egg, oats, salt, pepper and parsley until
well combined. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty the
size of the burger rolls. Arrange on a plate, cover and chill in the fridge for
at least 1 hour.

2. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the patties until
golden brown and done, turning often so the patties cook evenly.

3. Put a slice or square of cheese on each patty.

4. Halve the rolls and butter the cut sides. Heat a clean pan
and fry the rolls, buttered side down, until toasted.

5. Spread mustard on the bottom halves of the rolls, then
stack the cheese-covered patties and the rest of the ingredients on top. Add
the top halves of the rolls and serve.
