Brussels sprouts with bacon

Ingredients (7)

1.00 stock cube — chicken, crumbled
250.00 ml water
20.00 brussel sprouts
15.00 ml oil
8.00 bacon — back rashers, diced
8.00 pickling onions — peeled
0.00 salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Add the stock cube to the water and bring to the boil in a saucepan.

Add the Brussel sprouts and cook over moderate heat for 3 – 5 minutes or until cooked but still green and firm. Drain and reserve the liquid.

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the bacon and onions until brown.

Add the Brussel sprouts, season with salt and pepper and mix lightly. Spoon the mixture into a serving bowl.
