|butter — cut into small pieces

Prehat oven to 180 °C.
Place the brussel sprouts in an ovenproof dish with a tight-fitting lid.
Lay butter on the brussel sprouts and sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Cover dish and place in oven to cook for 25 minutes, or until tender, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent them sticking.
The brussel sprouts will cook in the butter and the small amount of moisture clinging to them. Neither water nor stock is needed.
