Ingredients (5)

6 green apples — cored and roughly chopped
6 beetroots — washed and roughly chopped
4 carrots — washed and roughly chopped
3cm piece fresh ginger
1cm piece fresh turmeric

Method:

Use a juicing machine to juice all the fruit together, give a stir and served chilled with ice.

Tips:

  • If you don’t have a juicer, blend until smooth and then strain the pulp out using a fine-mesh sieve.
  • Fresh juices are free from preservatives, so they are best enjoyed immediately or within 24 hours.
  • Chill the cut fruit before juicing in the fridge if you’d prefer to skip serving the fresh juice with ice
  • Use fresh turmeric root sparingly, it can make the juice bitter if too much is added, 1 tsp of ground turmeric stirred into the juice before serving if you can’t find fresh turmeric root
  • Add orange juice for a slightly sweeter citru-infused version
  • Use the leftover pulp for baking or as compost
