Nigella Lawson has spoken and the “correct” way to pronounce “microwave” is out
We’ve been lied to for decades, but we’re all today years old when we learned the correct way to pronounce the word microwave!
On the eighth day of December Nigella gave to me a “mee-cro wah-vay” – wait, what? Just in case you missed it, last night on Nigella Lawson’s Cook, Eat, Repeat food series a new term was coined and microwaves will never be the same again!

It would appear that we have all been pronouncing microwave wrong for decades and we’ve got to admit “mee-cro wah-vay” has a certain festive jingle to it and we’re all for it!
A perplexing quaran-brain moment or just the right amount of genius we need to get us through the last month of 2020… Either way microwaves nay “mee-cro wah-vays” will never be the same again!
Eternally grateful to Nigella Lawson for letting us know we’ve all been mispronouncing microwave for the last 50 (or so) years. pic.twitter.com/tfXODGQRDp

We’ve reached out to a trusted source (a microwave) and asked for their feelings on the matter – we eagerly await a response, but in the mean-time don’t mind us, we’ll just be over here “mee-cro wah-vaying” thangs!
