We’ve all
been there, done that and gotten the virtual t-shirt when it comes to the #lockdown2020
mandatory banana bread baking trend – but now it’s time to make way for a new
trend: floral bread. It’s the creative break your endless day needs (provided
you can get your hands on some flour and yeast!).

So, what is
floral bread? A variety of herbs and vegetables are used to transform
plain-looking bread into a visual garden. It’s guaranteed to add some
much-needed sunshine to an otherwise glum period.

Exactly how
you want to decorate it is up to you, and the best part is that every loaf is
completely unique. Even if you don’t fancy yourself an artist, this is one you
can do. At the end of the day, it’s most important to just have fun with it.

Is floral
bread the new face of all things bread or is it purely a (sorely needed!) lockdown
boredom buster? Only time will tell, but we’ll definitely be making it in the
meantime.

a too-pretty-to-eat slice of floral bread on us! Together we’ll get through
this period of lockdown snack-down – don’t forget to share and tag @food24_sa,

baking!
