Cape Town restaurant does the Ice Bucket Challenge

Being doused in a bucket of ice water would usually be considered quite the punishment.

But the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, as it’s been dubbed, has taken the media by storm as everyone from the boy next door to David Beckham (Go on have a peek we know you want to) – has accepted the challenge in a bid to raise funds for the fight against a disease that sees the degeneration of one’s muscles.

It is in this spirit that the guys over at the local trendy restaurant Societi Bistro took off their aprons to under go the challenge. Led by their restaurateur Peter Weetman they braved the chill and became part of the global initiative to assist the ALS Association.

They in turn then challenged the Jonkerhuis team and the Brasserie team amongst others. We must say it’s great to see our local restaurants getting into the vibe in support of a very worthy cause.
