Light those fires, crack open a cold one and get plenty of friends over. It’s time to braai!
Heritage month is a biggie for us here at Food24 which culminates on the 24th September for a nice little public hols and some lekker braai time.
What will you be doing? I’m having some friends and family over for a lengthy gathering where anything goes. Last year we saw a poacher’s roast (leg of lamb cooked in a tree), suckling pig, quails, pork bellies and more – it was braai magic.
Take a slow gander through our amazing braai hub and take your pick from 100 braai recipes. You’ve simply got to have some sort of braai toasty to start with and we’ve got some great salads, side dishes and garlic bread to go with whatever you’ve got flaming on your grill.
When you’re done with the savoury indulgence of your day, I suggest a lovely braai pud, I mean, who could resist this Amarula malva pudding? Or you could try your hand at this bread and butter pudding, some fun braaied chocolate bananas or grab a stick and toast some marshmallows with Bar One chocolate sauce.
Polish those tongs, put on your slops and have a good time.
