Allée Bleue launches olive oil
What’s better than a wine farm? A wine and olive farm of course.
Allée Bleue’s liquid gold is obtained with the greatest care from the farm’s six hectares of mission olive trees that line the banks of the Berg River in the Franschhoek Valley. The cold pressed, extra virgin oil has an intense peppery-fruit flavour with a slight aftertaste of chilli.
They have been palate savvy and are importing an equally high quality balsamic vinegar from Modena to couple with their liquid pride. The balsamic has a lovely balance of sweet and tangy and compliments the luscious oil well.
South African olive oil is of world-class quality and Willow Creek Olive Estate took top honours
in one of the world’s most illustrious olive oil competitions, the L’Orciolo
d’Oro in Gradara, Italy, this year. Their flagship Directors’ Reserve Extra Virgin
Olive Oil beat incredibly stiff competition to earn the title of champion olive oil in the Intensely Fruity
category, the competition’s highest accolade.
Morgenster, Tokara, Olyfberg and Vesuvio are also world contenders and continue to impress judges with their first-class quality. We are showing the world that we’ve got the right stuff to make sunshine in a bottle.
Wolfgang Leyrer, Allée Bleue’s MD, is passionate about his product and confident that the quality will speak for itself. It has been 8 years since they planted the first trees and even though they have been producing the oil for a good few years, it’s time the public got a real taste.
Allée Bleue is a great day out for the family as they do great picnics and the views are magnificent as you sip your wine and watch your sprogs frolic on the cool jungle gyms.
