Ingredients (7)

500 g mince — lean beef
2 bread — sliced white, crumbled
10 ml mustard
15 ml dried mixed herbs
5 ml salt
2 ml freshly ground black pepper
15 ml olive oil — for frying

Method:

1. Mix minced beef, bread crumbs, mustard, herbs and seasoning together in a bowl – mixing by hand works best.
2. Divide the mixture in 4 evenly, and shape patties – slightly thicker patties hold together better.
3. Fry in olive oil, keeping stove on a medium heat.
4. If patties start to shrink, add a little boiling water from the kettle. This will help them keep their size, and stay moist.
5. Serve on a soft bread roll with crisp lettuce, sliced tomato and a slice of cheese or avo.
