Ox liver and onion pie



  • 3 onions sliced into rings
  • 1/2
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1
  • oil
  • puff pastry
  • salt
  • 1 punnet ox livers cut into cubes


Fry onions in oil until well done. Add livers and fry until nearly cooked. Add a little water; let it boil for a few minutes then add flour and Bisto in a cup. Add a little water to make gravy, stir until well mixed, and then add the gravy and salt. Let it boil for a few minutes. Allow to cool then roll out your puff pastry to the size of your dish. Prick with a fork and add your ox liver. Cover with puff pastry. Brush with egg and do not forget to prick holes in the top of the pastry. Bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes.
