East Head Café is more than just a café or coffee shop, it is a local Landmark where family and friends have a good time with good food and casual wine enjoying life.

Situated on the rocks of the famous Eastern Head, East Head Café has the most spectacular view - looking directly through the Knysna Heads. Whether you are seated inside or outside on the terrace, it is the perfect setting to enjoy lazy breakfasts, alfresco lunches or the best cocktails in Knysna.

The first visitors to East Head Café were the Koisan people thousands of years ago. They settled on the Eastern Shore of the Knysna Heads and enjoyed fine seafood meals at the site next to which East Head Café is situated.

An exposed midden on the terrace lays proof to the fact that the best location in Knysna has always been at East Head Café.

Knysna is South Africa’s favourite town, East Head Café is Knysna’s favourite meeting place. The visual beauty of the blue lagoon, the sandstone cliffs, the ever changing Heads, the mysterious Milkwood Forests and the coastal fynbos – all of these unique features make East Head Café the restaurant with the best view not only in Knysna, but the whole of South Africa.

The view over the water towards the Heads is one of ever changing beauty, shifting throughout the day as the sea water rushes against the rocks below.

The East Head Cafe are proud to have both indoor and outdoor seating facilities, with a wood burning fireplace inside for those cold winter days and an outside covered terrace.

In their never ending pursuit of excellence, they place great emphasis on the quality and service of their food and wines. The food is simple – they believe in simple well made food with accent on flavour and freshness - all dishes are made using the best local produce that can be sourced.

The kitchen team under the guidance of Deidre Kuhn, believes in only one theory, start with something good and you can only make it better!! Their café style menu caters for all tastes - from bloody good breakfast Mary’s and perfect cappuccinos to fresh fish & chips and gourmet burgers.

East Head Café is fully licensed and the wine list offers a selection of some fine South African wines. The wine list has been compiled from wines they themselves enjoy drinking, if you think like them, you’ll agree that ?life is too short to drink wine only after lunch ?.

Most of the wines chosen are easy drinking, casual wines; others are there because everybody needs to indulge once in a while. They also offer a selection of wines by the glass, ?try a glass and another and another and then order a bottle?.

At East Head Café they have placed great emphasis on kiddies having as much fun as adults. They value that there is a need to go where children can play whilst the parents sit back and enjoy their meal with a great view and a glass of wine. They have created a kids’ corner with colouring-in blackboards and toys for the kids to enjoy.
