Ingredients (7)

125.00 g butter
45.00 g cocoa powder
2.00 eggs — large
200.00 g castor sugar
150.00 g flour — self-raising
60.00 g caramel sweets — chunks
icing sugar — to decorate

Method:

1. Melt butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa.
2. Beat eggs until light, add sugar and beat well. Stir in the chocolate mixture. Sift flour over the top of this mixture and fold in with the caramels.
3. Pour into a greased and lined 20 cm square tin. Bake in preheated 180 ºC oven for 30 to 35 minutes until cooked through, but still moist.
4. Cool and cut into squares.
5. Cut a heart shape out of cardboard. Place heart shape on a brownie square and dust it with the icing sugar.
6. Remove cardboard to show hearts. Repeat with remaining brownies. Serve brownies on their own or with cream or ice cream for dessert.
