Tomato and chilli jam

  • 1
    cherry tomatoes, washed
  • 1
    red chilli (optional)
  • 1
    sugar (use jam sugar if you can find some)


In a microwave, boil the fruit with 30ml water in a covered 4-litre microwave dish on high for about 5-10 minutes.

Add the sugar and cook on medium heat for another 30 minutes. Stir after the first 10 minutes and then just before it’s cooked through.

Allow the jam to cool and dish into sterilised jars.
