The tomato sauce

  • 1
    olive oil
  • 1
    onion (chopped)
  • 2
    garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • 400
    tins of tomatoes (chopped or whole)
  • 3
    fresh basil (chopped)



Sauté the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.

Add tomatoes and herbs and simmer over a low heat for 20 to 30 minutes or until reduced by half.

Process in a food processor or with a hand-held blender until smooth
