Syrupy baked pears

    firm pears
  • 190
    maple syrup
  • 1
    orange, rind sliced into strips
  • 1
    lemon, rind sliced into strips
  • Greek yoghurt
  • extra maple syrup to taste


Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and butter an oven dish or spray with non-stick spray. Cut off the stem ends of the pears about a quarter of the way down the fruit and set aside. Core the pears and hollow out slightly using a ball spoon. Mix the maple syrup, orange rind and lemon rind and pour into the hollowed-out pears. Replace the cut-off tops of the pears and bake the fruit for 30 minutes until tender. Place a pear in each serving dish and serve with Greek yoghurt mixed with a little maple syrup.
